Cheesy Dates and Ham

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound pitted Medjool dates
  • 3 ounces sliced Havarti cheese
  • 1 finely chopped green onion
  • 1 pound thickly sliced deli ham
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 20 party skewers or toothpicks
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Stuff all of the dates with equal parts cheese and green onions. Cut deli ham slices lengthwise into 2 inch strips, and wrap strips tightly around dates, securing them with toothpicks or skewers. Place ham wrapped dates on a sheet pan. Bake for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, or until ham is crispy and cheese is melted. Mix balsamic vinegar and honey together and drizzle lightly over warm dates. Serve immediately for best flavor. Makes around 20 bite sized servings.
